Longwood Family Chiropractic is a wellness center offering evidence-based chiropractic care to the Kennett Square and Southern Chester County communities.

Although we provide our patients with state of the art equipment, chiropractic care is focused on touch. We provide specific spinal adjustments to properly align the body’s joints, most often those of the spinal column. Our main goal is to improve your spinal health and reduce nervous system interference, which in turn reduces pain, increases mobility, strength and balance. We have many different techniques to meet your needs. We treat patients of all ages, from infants to the elderly.

The foundation for optimal health is based on proper spinal alignment, nutritious foods, regular exercise, high quality supplementation and a variety of stress reduction techniques.

We integrate chiropractic with:

  • massage therapy
  • nutritional counseling
  • exercise training and rehabilitation

We specialize in specific chiropractic spinal adjustments that are gentle forces that the body utilizes to allow the correction of spinal misalignment and enhance bodily function. We specialize in specific chiropractic spinal adjustments that are gentle forces that the body utilizes to allow the correction of spinal misalignment and enhance bodily function.

No one type of massage answers every need. For that reason, Longwood Family Chiropractic offers a variety of massage techniques ranging from sports massage to stress-reduction massage and deep-tissue massage. We utilize massage to increase blood flow and reduce lactic acid build-up as preferred methods of preventing and treating work, athletic, and auto injuries. Massage has been found to be beneficial for rehabilitation, prevention of injuries, managing stress and inducing relaxation. Our treatments are offered in 30 or 60 minute sessions.

Please Note: We require a prescription/referral for all massage therapy billed through insurance. Your chiropractor, primary care physician, naturopathic physician or other physician specialist may write the referral.

As a service to our active patients we offer a nutritional analysis to help you deal with issues that may need further supportive care. The doctors may recommend tips for healthy eating as well as quality vitamins or supplements to support your daily diet. Vitamins are meant to enhance food, not replace it. We do this in a safe way through quality, whole food supplements.

Stress, a major contributor to the quality of our overall health, is rarely examined at or addressed in our personal healthcare. Stress of any magnitude automatically triggers a fight-or-flight response within us. Different people feel stress in different parts of their bodies and to different degrees. Some may notice tension in their shoulders, for others it may become difficult to breathe or their hands may become sweaty. This fight-or-flight response is the body’s way of letting us know that it’s stressed and wants to return to a relaxed state.

Chiropractic care can help with many of the physical symptoms of stress such as tensed muscles or headaches. At Longwood Family Chiropractic, we will work to reduce the physical ailments of stress and to find the sources which may be causing unnecessary stress. If we feel that it is something outside of our scope of practice we will work to get you in the right place.

If necessary, we offer on-site exercise rehabilitation focused on each patient’s individual needs. These exercises are used to compliment your regular chiropractic care and to facilitate optimal spinal function. The doctors may recommend simple, home care exercises that patients can continue outside of the office.

Once finished with the initial exam and all appropriate studies, patients will generally be provided with their first treatment during this same visit. This may include spinal adjustments, physical therapies and/or soft tissue therapies.
